Welcome to the website of the Middle Atlantic Division (MAD) of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy! I’m Lindsey Hoskins, and I’m so excited to be leading this dynamic, engaged group of clinicians during a very important time in our organization’s history. I’m also extremely honored to serve with such an incredible Board at my side – I can honestly tell you that you are in talented, capable hands.
Here on our website, you’ll find helpful resources – whether you’re a clinician/member or whether you’re just looking for information on marriage and family therapy. I invite you to look around, and don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I’d love to hear from you! You can email me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
One of my priorities as president is to continue to bring value and connection to our members in Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia. Our fundamental mission is twofold: to continue to increase public awareness that marriage and family therapists are the most qualified mental health professionals to deal with issues surrounding couples and families; and to support our hardworking membership. Toward that end, we offer many opportunities to learn and grow through our conferences, workshops, and lunch and learns (FREE CEUs!). In addition, we offer many opportunities to network with like-minded professionals and spend some time with other members of our group. The Board is deeply committed to the profession of marriage and family therapy, and to advancing our
profession in both the public and clinical spheres.
Finally, I want to make you aware that this is an extremely critical time in the life of our Division, as AAMFT Central is currently proposing to change the structure of the organization such that Divisions would no longer exist. A vote on this matter will be held during the summer of 2015, and I want to make sure that each and every MAD member feels informed and ready to cast his or her vote. If you have any questions about what your vote means or what options are available, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.
As you can probably tell, I have a great deal of enthusiasm about our profession, and I love sharing that with fellow MFTs. Please browse our site, attend a Board meeting, or have coffee with another MFT. Let us show you what we can do!
